Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a captivating story to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just across the border from neighboring Thailand, where casino wagering is illegal. Eight gambling dens are anchored in a relatively tiny space in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia casinos is in a perfect location, a three to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest gambling centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The astonishing income gained from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few restrictions constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be mainly Thai; although, funding sources are ambiguous. The borders are officially open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and even though visas are apparently required to cross, there are means around this, as is accurate of many border crossings.
The first Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked barge gambling hall, features 150 slot machine games and 60 gaming tables. The Naga casino is open 24 hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of twenty-one, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly opened. A total of one hundred and fifty slot machines and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machine games and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slots and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slots and 96 table games, including eighty seven baccarat (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and 66 of the familiar table games, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machine games and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international resort and hotel compound that contains many amenities accompanying the gambling den, which offers 10,000 square feet of 130 one armed bandits and 88 tables.
